Over summer I took on a marketing project that let me combine my work with my love of travel. In the spirit of turning lemons into lemonade, I took this opportunity and ran with it. I was able to take a road trip for the sake of promoting the company as well as showing the diversity and ease of use of the products. This lead to adventures spanning several states including Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.
After packing my truck full of camping gear and product, my dog and I set off for 2 weeks along the coast and in the woods. While I want to keep as many of the lesser known locations just that, I will say that the scenery as well as the landscape were stunning. From sleeping on beaches engulfed in mist and cradled by mountains, to wandering through forests older than I can say, setting up camp in weather from 50 degrees to 104 degrees, primitive sites to national parks, some of the sketchiest hotels I've ever seen and a couple of hidden gems.
With a little help from a friend, we were able to create both simple and more complex recipes from the product over fires built directly in the sand and on the tailgate of my truck with a camp stove. Along the way we judged every oyster shooter we could find, drank plenty of wine straight from the bottles, and found every great spot you could imagine to hang the hammock in between hikes and campsites.
Although we saw and ate everything we could think of, there's only so much I can say to describe it all without becoming overly repetitious.
“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”
